Cadillac Ciel Concept unveiled at Pebble Beach

Cadillac is full of surprises lately: after introducing three new models into production they have unveiled a brand new concept at Pebble Beach last week, the Cadillac Ciel Concept, a stunning four door convertible. Named after the French word for sky, the Ciel is a large convertible without the B-pillar, with suicide doors resembling the ’61 Lincoln Continental convertible.

The concept was developed at the General Motors North Hollywood Design Center with the exterior design being lead by Niki Smart and the interior design by Gael Buzyn. Even though it’s pretty long, this convertible packs quite a lot of power under the hood, thanks to a hybrid drivetrain combined of a 3.6 liter direct injected V6 and an electric motor which uses a lithium ion battery.

These two are able to produce an impressive 425 HP and 583 Nm of torque which is more than enough for a convertible with this looks. We don’t have a clue if Cadillac plans to take this concept into production in the future but someone from the company declared that if they didn’t had any intentions of doing anything with it, they wouldn’t be showing it either. So.. maybe there are a couple of chances to see this stunner on the streets in the next years.
