Ford has released today five new special edition versions of the Ford Focus RS called “Le Mans Classic” as a tribute to the company’s history at the 24 hour endurance race from Le Mans. The cars feature unique colour schemes and celebrate several cars from the Blue Oval who won this famous race.
The black version with silver stripes reminds of the Ford MK II which won the race back in 1966, the red model with white stripes was inspired from the Ford MK IV victorious in 1967 and the white variant with twin blue center stripes with red borders was built to honor the Ford MK IIB which also participated in the 1967 race.
The Ford GT40 that dominated Le Mans in 1968 and 1969 led to a two tone sky blue version with orange while the Capi RS 2600 which won the Touring category in 1972 led to a two tone white car with a blue stripe.
All versions of the Ford Focus RS Le Mans Classic Edition will also feature a couple of styling upgrades inside the cockpit such as new sport seats from Recaro wrapped in Alcantara and a numbered plaque on the dashboard.
