Mercedes has officially revealed today the new Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series, a car that’s apparently the most powerful C-Class ever built. Design-wise, the car’s exterior became a lot more aggressive thanks to an arrow shaped front end with large air intakes, a lower splitter in black, a new hood with two air intake vents, new side skirts, wider rear quarter panel, a new rear diffuser with room for a trapezoidal quad exhaust, new rear apron, boot lid, all components being made from genuine carbon fiber. The special “Black Series” badging is another important visual upgrade.
The new Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series is powered by an AMG 6.3L V8 engine that is able to produce 510 bhp, 30 bhp more than the C63 AMG with Performance Package and a maximum torque of 620 Nm. All this power is channeled to the car’s wheels through an AMG Speedshift MCT 7 speed transmission with rear axle differential lock.
The car also featured an adjustable AMG Coil over sports suspension, an AMG high performance braking system, titanium forged light alloy wheels sized 9×19″ up front and 9.5×19″ in the rear with 255/35R19 and 285/30R19 tires. Customers could also get sports tires, active rear axle transmission cooling and the AMG aerodynamics package with flics, a refined front splitter and an adjustable carbon fiber rear aerofoil.
The interior features two AMG sports bucket seats upholstered in black Dinamica microfiber on the center panels of the seats with the door panels being wrapped in a sort of synthetic fiber. The rear bench has been removed to save weight but customers could get two AMG sport seats for the back as well. A new AMG steering wheel, AMG door sills, AMG sport pedals, Black Series logos and many other details complete the new, refined, interior look.
The Mercedes C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series was premiered at the German GP over the weekend and will go on sale in January 2012 for 115,430 EUR in Germany.
